Why is this project special?
Since a farmhouse is a place where people want to live free and away from the hustle-bustle of their busy lives, this project was based on the concept of minimalism. It not only gives people psychological benefits but also teaches them to live with little things and be happy.
Tell us something about your project?
This farmhouse is located in Bhilwara, Rajasthan. The planning of this project was done in such a way as to provide as much light and ventilation that is possible. Using very few resources but smartly using them is an art that one should know how to use.
What was the biggest challenge you faced and how did you overcome it?
The challenge in this project was to create a minimalism effect in such a big place which is not easy because using fewer resources in bigger spaces can create a lot of negative spaces as well as can give a feeling of emptiness. so we decided to give a lot of landscaping areas so that it can create a balance between open and built spaces. so my team members (Manya, Lubhit, and Janhvi) gave a great input of placing a pool at the nack side of the house, living room and bedroom are accessible easily that as connectivity between three of them and also will give a great ambiance to the place.
What is the lesson you learned in this project that you would like to pass on to the next generation of architects?
– You should always keep in mind that even if you are using very few resources you should use them more smartly so that you can fulfill the requirements and you can do justice to that place and the project.
