Firm/Studio Name

Rang Sang

How did you come up with the name of your studio?
‘Rang Sang’ is an ode to my inherent skills, passion and endeavour. Founded during the unprecedented times of 2020 the brand aims to add colour to the lives of those who share similar admiration and interest in Art. Rang means colour in Hindi and Sang signifies togetherness. Rang-Sang is based on the philosophy that colours & creativity unites us all. My aim is to connect with more creative hands across different ages and paint the world together!

What determined your passion for design? Tell us about the moment when you decided this is the way to go.
As a passionate student of Commercial art is in college, I have always been an avid lover of design, colours, forms and all things ‘aesthetic’. With the experience of over 20 years as a creative director and graphic designer for a digital advertising agency. I have worked with reputed brands like Nestle, Samsung, LG, Pepsi, Hindustan Unilever, Make My Trip and many more. I started Rang Sang during the pandemic with the thought of adding colours to people’s homes and lives. Initially, we started through workshops and now we also make hand-painted merchandise such as wall plates, coasters etc.

With Rang- Sang we make quirky hand-painted home decor and utility products like wall plates, trays, coasters, cushion covers, stoles, sling bags, pouches, pen stands, boxes, jewellery, clay murals, fridge magnets and much more, using materials such as terracotta, wood, MDF and canvas. Inspired by traditional artforms the products exude a rather contemporary character crafted to suit the likes of all ages.

I am passionate about painting ever since I was a child. Watching my work displayed in someones home, office or business space means a lot to me. With this venture I intend to provide employment opportunities for skilled women born with a flair for art and empower them to become self-reliant and financially independent.

If you had no limits (money, resources), what would you create?
With endless possibilities, I would love to experiment with Wall murals, Art Installations throughout the city. I would also innovate news ways to beautify our city with meaningful art. I feel that my journey has just begun and with consistent effort and passion I will be able to take my art to global platforms.
