The Little Details
How did you come up with the name of your studio?
When it comes to design, it is the details that make space come to life. This made us arrive at this name.
What determined your passion for design? Tell us about the moment when you decided this is the way to go.
I was in school when we were moving houses. I attended as many site meetings as I could with dad. I used to look forward to attending it. This made me realise I was always drawn to interiors and this is what I wanted to pursue.
What kind of projects were you doing when you first started as a designer?
I worked for 6.5 years in a niche firm designing corporate spaces.
What field of design are you most interested in?
Residential & hospitality spaces
What is your favourite book/magazine on design? How about your favourite site?
There are such good magazines out there that always inspire me to do better and connect to the design fraternity. If I had to pen down a few of my favourites is would be Elle, Architectural Digest. Favourite site executed so far – A 3bhk apartment – solace In simplicity.
What is your Signature Style?
We aim at creating timeless spaces which would evolve with their users with time.
It would be a mix of contemporary, Indian with neutral colours and mixed metals.
What inspires you to thrive in this industry? Which piece of architecture inspires you the most.
Spaces that we surround ourselves with have a huge impact on our lives. Creating spaces that have a positive, surreal and calm emotion is something I wish to achieve across all projects.
From your point of view, is design an art or a science?
Design is art with technology.
If you had no limits (money, resources), what would you create?
Engaging ourselves in anything creative activity can us achieve more balanced emotional and mental health.
If I could i would design a recreational outdoor space functioning on solar energy which catered to creative growth – art therapy, painting, dance, writing, stitching all of it.
Space where anyone could come and unwind and network with like-minded individuals- age no barrier.
What advice do you have for young designers or architects reading this interview?
Explore. Observe and never stop learning.
